About Me
Hi, I'm Mike. I'm from Minnesotaβ, where I live with my partner Chelsea. We share our home with our dogs, (3) & (3), and cats, Salem (7) & Oliver (7).
I'm passionate about self-hosting and home lab projects. I love experimenting with new tools, managing my own infrastructure, and learning through hands-on projects that push me to understand systems at a deeper level.
I work as a Systems Engineer at VC3, helping businesses optimize their IT environments. I bring over 6 years of professional experience in the industry, with a background spanning infrastructure, automation, and technical support.
Feel free to reach out through my contact page - I'd love to connect.

Philosophy
I've always been driven by the need to understand how things work under the hood. That curiosity usually turns a quick fix into a weekend-long project, where the goal isn't just to get it running, but to rebuild it better, faster, and more efficient than it was before.
Ownership
I believe in self-hosting and digital sovereignty. If itβs critical, it should run on hardware I control and infrastructure I understand from the ground up.
Resiliency
Systems should be built to survive. I prioritize security, redundancy, and high availability - not because it's easy, but because reliable systems are invisible.
Iteration
Optimization is a continuous process. Iβm never truly "done" with a project; there is always a way to refactor, simplify, or squeeze out more performance.
"If you have to do it twice, automate it."
